Presented by the Castlemaine State Festival at Castlemaine’s Phee Broadway Theatre as part of Asia TOPA,  Between 8 and 9 (Chengdu Teahouse Project) is a 70 minute sound installation created by a group of Australian & Chinese artists led by Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey, featuring traditional instrumentation, new composition, electronics, sculptural design and vocal performance.

Arts House and Chamber Made Opera present Permission to Speak. Delicately poised between concert and theatre, Permission to Speak explores the dynamic relationship of parent and child as it exists and evolves through a lifetime.

Another Other is a 79 minute multimedia performance created by four of Australia’s leading experimental artists: Erkki Veltheim, Sabina Maselli, Natasha Anderson and Anthony Pateras.

Deep underground, something is stirring. Ideas are spreading and change is beckoning. The Captives have a choice: embrace the terrifying uncertainty of change or maintain the status quo.
