Wang Shuai

Shuai is the Principal Percussionist at the Ethnic Music Orchestra of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. He is also a member of the Sichuan Musicians Association.

In July 2015, Shuai completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Modern Instrumental Department, specialising in Percussion, at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. In that same year, he was given the Excellent College Graduate Award by the Sichuan Province.

Since graduation, Shuai has performed with the Ethnic Music Orchestra of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music at many prestigious venues such as the National Theatre, the Beijing Concert Hall and the Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall. He has performed in over 60 performances in many cities within the Sichuan Province.

Shuai was awarded a prestigious National Scholarship from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in 2012/2013 and again in 2013/2014. 

Shuai has received many other awards and won many competitions, most notably achieving first place in the Seventh, Eighth and Ninth National Youth Percussion Competitions.
