Target reinterprets the ancient Greek myth of Ganymede, the most beautiful of mortals whom Zeus abducted in the form of an eagle to serve as his cup-bearer. Young composer Luke Paulding drags this myth into a contemporary context including fashion photo-shoots and underwear model advertisements.
‘A sincere welcome to [Quiver], this talent-rich new body, particularly for its brave promotion of intriguing and taxing creations.’
“Paulding’s sound world consists of deconstructing instrumental sounds to produce new and fascinating timbres.”
Presented as a work-in-progress as part of La Mama’s Explorations series.
