Rebecca Bracewell
Rebecca Bracewell is a composer and sound artist living in Naarm/Melbourne. Originally trained as a classical accordionist, she began a degree in composition at Monash University in 2018. Now she is completing her fourth year Honours exploring the possibilities of hearing aids to be performed, and the politics of listening, deafness, and sound reproduction technology.
In 2018, her string quartet won the MSO Pizzicato Effect competition, and more recently she was selected as one of three fellows to participate in the Bouman Fellowship, for which she is writing a quintet for strings and percussion. In early 2021, Rebecca released her debut EP Raveling Wails, an album created entirely from hearing aid feedback.
