Nat Grant
Dr. Nat Grant is a sound artist with more than 15 years experience across broadcasting, podcasting, live performance, digital arts, and community arts. Nat is interested in the power of sound and music as storytelling tools, and is invested in creating and maintaining community around sound making.
As a composer Nat has created original chamber music, durational sound art works, has composed and created sound design for theatre, dance, film, and live art, and in 2018 received the Age Music Victoria award for best Experimental/Avant-Garde Act.
In 2022 Nat’s sonic portraiture podcast ‘Prima Donna’ received an oral history award from the Public Record Office Victoria in partnership with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria. This project seeks to preserve the voices and stories of older artists from all disciplines and to provide a platform for their stories.
Much of Nat’s work relies on collaboration, improvisation, and adapting to the unique circumstances of each project.
Nat was a presenter at Hi-Viz 2020.
