Louise Devenish
Louise Devenish is a contemporary percussionist whose creative practice blends performance, collaboration and artistic research. As a soloist and with Decibel, The Sound Collectors Lab and Intercurrent, she develops new works exploring digital notation, post-instrumental practice and collaborative creativity, performing at festivals including MONA FOMA, Nagoya and Shanghai World Expos, Ojai Music Festival, Tage für Neue Musik, Perth Festival, and Tongyeong International Music Festival. Louise has commissioned 50 works, and her performances are acknowledged for their ‘interpretive flair and technical brilliance’. Most recently, at the 2020 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards, she won Performance of the Year Award and the WA State Luminary Award. Louise is Senior Research Fellow and Percussion Coordinator at Monash University.
Louise collaborated in the 2021 Little Operations with Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh and Chris Cottrell.
