Edward Fairlie

Edward Fairlie has performed extensively both as a vocalist and trumpet player. He has toured with ARIA award winners Gotye and Julia Stone both nationally and overseas. Has also performed with artists as diverse as Paul Kelly, Olivia Newton-John and The Idea of North. Edward has played trumpet in the orchestra pit for hit musicals such as Aladdin and Evita in Melbourne and he regularly travels interstate and abroad to perform.

Also an established composer, Edward wrote a major orchestral work in 2018 entitled A Cloud of Dust and Fire about the 1970 collapse of the Westgate Bridge. The work was commissioned by the Victorian Youth Symphony Orchestra and received its premiere in Melbourne in December 2018. He has several works for wind ensemble published by Boosey & Hawkes, and his compositions and arrangements are played by ensembles all over the world.
