Dr Rea Dennis
Born on Bundjalung lands, Rea now lives and works in Melbourne Naarm, Wurundjeri country. A performance practitioner, her works seek to to disrupt linguistic meaning and to foreground embodied knowledge through diverse forms. One of Rea’s current projects invites audiences to move outdoor and to consider our existence as with and as nature; works include Sky Symphony (with Kate Hunter, LaMama 2023), Feeling Nature (National Design Week Geelong 2021), Field Trip to the Future (Platform Arts Geelong 2022) and River + Stones (Immigration Museum 2016).
Rea is an Associate Professor in Performance at Deakin University and has published on the small to medium sector performance makers, refugee performance, performer training, ecological and telematic performance. Her live works have been presented in UK, USA, Taiwan, UK, Brazil, New Zealand and Australia.
