During first and second school terms in 2012, Chamber Made Opera partnered with The Venny Adventure Playground in Kensington to develop an innovative cross-cultural arts education project. The Venny provides children and their families from the Kensington High Rise Commission Housing and the local area with a communal back yard, complete with chooks, guinea pigs, trampolines, cubby houses and more.

The children, led by a team of Chamber Made Opera artists, created ‘Lost and Found’ – a music theatre adventure inspired by their lives. ‘Lost and Found’ was realised by using shadow puppets, performance, percussion, song, live graffiti and chickens in a performance for the community in May 2012.

The project was led by writer/librettist Alan Gilmour, percussionist/composer Matthias Schack-Arnott and puppeteer/theatre maker Sarah Kriegler

This project was made possible by The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and The Helen Macpherson Smith Trust.
