A contemporary work for two voices, video & instrumentation
SUPER IMPOSITION is about the media, how it shapes our world-views, constructs fictions & incites prejudice. Led by performance-makers Tamara Saulwick and Nicola Gunn, in collaboration with video artist Daniel Crooks and composer Peter Knight, SUPER IMPOSITION interrogates the different ways in which narrative can be controlled. The work draws on Tamara’s practice of using sound/recorded interviews to make a kind of documentary fiction and Nicola’s work that blurs distinction between performer & persona to create a kind of autobiographical fiction. SUPER IMPOSITION subversively interrogates the media and those who work in it, subjecting them & their processes to public scrutiny.
