Tim is a creative producer and arts manager. He began working with Chamber Made in February 2012 as Executive Producer and was appointed Creative Director & CEO as part of an organisational re-structure in June 2013, where he remained until June 2018.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Bachelor of Commence from The University of Melbourne where he majored in History, Asian Studies and Management. He was a participant of the 2017 Asialink Leaders Program and undertook the Australia Council for the Arts Emerging Leaders Development Program in 2015.
From 2008-2011 Tim managed the TheatreSpace project, a four-year Australian Research Council project of Griffith, Sydney & Melbourne Universities investigating the young audiences of Australia’s major state theatre companies and cultural venues. He has worked in various capacities in the arts including: positions at the University of Melbourne’s Melbourne Graduate School of Education and School of Creative Arts; Arts Centre Melbourne; Pioneer Productions (TV-UK); Auspicious Arts Projects; and with John Paxinos & Associates.
Tim was a member of La Mama Theatre’s Committee of Management and a judge & panel chair for the Green Room Awards Association. He is a registered peer assessor for the Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria and City of Melbourne.
In his early career Tim worked as an actor in theatre, film and TV. He also co-devised a number of new Australian and international theatre works, including his solo work Lloyd Beckmann, Beekeeper. Beekeeper began its life at Melbourne’s La Mama and then toured to the Canberra Theatre Centre, Tamarama Rock Surfers (Sydney) & Brisbane Powerhouse (and was twice listed on the Victorian Year 12 Syllabus). He has won and been nominated for multiple Green Room Awards. Tim was part of the Melbourne Playback ensemble, and before that trained at Circle in the Square Theatre School, New York.
