Sabina Maselli’s practice exists at the intersection of film, performance and installation. Engaged in the language and techniques of cinema, her work reflects on the psychology of the image in space and time. Her analogue and digital works are presented as films, video installations and live performances on screen, stage, and site-specific spaces.
Sabina’s work has been part of Sydney Contemporary (Sydney), Mons 2015 European Capital of Culture festival (Belgium), Channels Festival (Melbourne), MOFO (Hobart), NES Artist Residency, Skagaströnd (Iceland), and JARF festival, Jatiwangi (Indonesia). As part of the film collective AFW (Artist Film Workshop), her works have been shown at places such as MCA (Sydney), Gertrude Contemporary and CCP (Centre for Contemporary Photography), Melbourne. She has been commissioned by performing art companies such as Speak Percussion, Australian Art Orchestra and Chamber Made Opera, participated in the JUMP mentorship program with mentor Jude Anderson (Punctum) and collaborated with various musicians in expanded cinema and music video projects.
