Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey are audio artists who work with the human experience of listening, their collaborations intersecting with industry, communities and sites across public art, film, radio, theatre, dance and installation. Their works are commissioned and presented nationally and internationally, recognised with the the 2014 Green Room Award for Hybrid/Alternative workm APRA-AMC National Award for Excellence in Experimental Music in 2012, and the Melbourne International Arts Festival Award in 2007.
Their work, the megaphone project, first commissioned by FINA and ArtPlay in 2006, an interactive public sound sculpture continues to be presented internationally. Other recent projects include Kekkai in collaboration with Korean theatre company Nottle Theatre which will premiere in 2015 and Gauge- a large scale sound of the weather installation which will be presented in the UK in 2015.
Their most recent work, 5 Short Blasts, for electric boats and marine radio, commissioned by the City of Melbourne and Port of Melbourne ( www.5shortblasts.com.au) will be presented in Prague in 2015. They are currently working with choreograper Tim Darbyshire on Stampede the Stampede for Dance Massive 2015 and choreographer Paea Leach for Chunky Move‘s season of It Cannot Be Stopped.
