At The Venny

This year marks the end of the extraordinary partnership between Chamber Made and The Venny.

A new performance work created by the children from The Venny with artists and musicians from Chamber Made and in collaboration with architects from Giant Grass Designs.

2014 was the third year that Chamber Made Opera have collaborated with the children of The Venny. Our Artistic Associates Sarah Kriegler and Christie Stott, along with Danni von der Borch and Enio Pozzebon, worked with the children on a weekly basis to devise and create a series of short silent films. Stories from the Suitcase had a public screening on Friday 21st November, accompanied live by the children performing the film's score and foley soundtrack.

Chamber Made Opera is passionate about expanding people’s notions of opera, and demonstrating ways in which contemporary performance can change the way one thinks.

During first and second school terms in 2012, Chamber Made Opera partnered with The Venny Adventure Playground in Kensington to develop an innovative cross-cultural arts education project. The Venny provides children and their families from the Kensington High Rise Commission Housing and the local area with a communal back yard, complete with chooks, guinea pigs, trampolines, cubby houses and more.
